It was a night-before-the-wedding visit and we were able to entertain friends and family in Phil’s lovely kitchen... read more and conservatory, and enjoy some relaxation in the hot tub. We all slept well in the spacious comfortable bedrooms and were treated to a great breakfast spread in the morning. It was a memorable prelude to a very special day.

					  6 of us stay here for a weekend as a surprise birthday celebration get away and I have to say it was a fabulous stay. Before arriving, Phil was very... read more good at communicating and answering any questions we had and on arrival Phil met us all individually to say hello and introduce himself and was very welcoming. The house is beautiful with such character and history and it was such a pleaseant stay. The beds were super comfortable, everywhere was spotless and all the facilities as needed were available and Phil was kind enough to allow us to use the kitchen which was super apperciated. We had our dog with us who was welcomed just as much and he had a great time exploring the grounds and sitting in front of the roaring fire in an amazing library surrounded by literature. The bathrooms in each room are truly amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. We had a beautiful meal at a nearby pub and Phil kindly offered us a lift there and back.  We felt so welcome and comfortable during our stay and Phil went above and beyond each day we were there.  I cant recommend this stay enough, Phil and his beautiful dog Stanley are truly fantastic hosts.  Thank you for our stay! We cant wait to come again and explore more of the surrounding areas and pubs!

					  Phil made our stay most memorable. I was there with 5 other family members and made for the perfect quiet stay before we went back to the US. We enjoyed... read more the leisure stroll around the property. Phil recommended that we walk along the canal into town and made for a perfect day. The property is serenely beautiful with a lovely garden with birds and bees buzzing about as well as turtles, and horses. We were not short of the variety of fruits, juices, breads and jams. Phil took great care to ensure it met our varying diets.

The home has much history and is definitely worth exploring for a lovely weekend getaway.
